Ducky Day

Absolutely beautiful sunny day! Perfect day for the annual Duck Derby. I enjoyed a few hours outdoors watching the little rubber ducks float down the Nippon canal. I didn't have a duck in the race -- I was only there for work -- so I wasn't too stressed out about the results. Plus it is always a fun thing to talk to the winners. This year the winner was a family with three boys -- all old enough to drive -- so they were pretty psyched when they won.

I think summer is slowly arriving, and I'm enjoying the beautiful sun. I think that the move to the Northwest was the best thing ever for me. I used to groan over sunny days, and now I appreciate them! But I still love the rain.

Unfortunately, I also had to cover a murder today. It is always heart wrenching to cover this sort of thing. Tomorrow I will probably have to follow up on it, and it isn't exactly my favorite thing. So sad when someone who is young dies.
